Paul Hardcastle will be turning in his grave ... not literally, but you get the point.
We crept past Rochdale, giving them a day to remember. We even gave them a condescending clap as they left the pitch. It was like patting a boy on his head who had tried his hardest, or clapping those idiots at the London Marathon in deep sea divers outfits. You know what I mean. It was oh so NOT Charlton. When was the last time we could smugly clap a team. Answers on a postcard.
Anyway 4-1 was an acceptable score, given that Rochdale played quite well, but class told in the end ... **splutters on his coffee**.
It gets better. We've drawn Yeovil ay home. Another League two side, but they are top and still in the Coca-Cola Cup. But come on, if we are going to progress in this damn thing then we have to play and beat Yeovil. Yes, No ... answers again on a postcard.
I was just thinking if Charlton have ever played Yeovil. I think they have in a friendly but not in a competitive game. So it's going to be something new for everyone. I have actually been to see Evil play and it was at their old ground, the sloping Huish. There were four of us supporting Welling that day, and the Wings scored a goal for each of us in a 4-0 win. It was so typically Welling as this was a Wednesday night and on the previous Saturday they had been beaten 4-0 by Chorley. I remember that it was 4-0 after 25 minutes so we all ended up in the bar. Good time? Get yourself another postcard.
Here's a question for you ...? Have you ever felt like you've been shat on from a great height? Er, no postcards needed here.
