We all dream of a team of El Karkouri ...

Well it doesn't go as much as the El Khalej song but I think our team would be a bit better with a load of Karkouris as opposed to El Khalejes.

It wasn't pretty, but it was effective. Four home games, three wins ... one goal conceded and that was Bergers wonder strike. And this was achieved with JJ playing for most of the game. I would have to say that I don't think Arse and his merry Goolies will be quaking in their collective boots though.

What's the point of Bombay Mix? There's a big bag of it on the desk next to mine ... and that's where it's staying.

I was reading the message board on the Southport Weekender website and came across a discussion about the an article/ or review in the latest DJ mag. It was a review of a mix CD by Joe Claussell and Blaze. Well if anyone knows these guys you would know what to expect. It's as easy as ordering meat and two veg. Well anyway the new CD gets absolutely ripped apart by a Ben Edwards, who it seems has no time for Soulful house. Well it's horses for courses really and what our Ben has to say is typical of the music press who know nothing about what they are reviewing.

Ben actually said "At the risk of being lynched, tortured and left to rot in Louie Vegas basement , there's just something about soulful house that makes you want to shake the dj by the ears and tell them to grow some fooking balls. Its definitely an acquired taste, but records that instruct you to "spread your wings and fly" or seek religious solace by "reaching up' can find the nearest motorway bridge and do one. Joe Claussells love of soul is clearly infectious, but that doesn't stop him conjuring vile images of fearless estate agents in neat polished loafers doing the chicken dance to irrating records like FRANK ROGER BELIEVE IN ME ... Blaze offering meanwhile just sounds like a soppy street-corner evangelist."

Well there you go, nice one. Given that most of the artists hail from a gospel background, it's no surprise really is it. I'm sure Ben likes the more hard house or maybe even likes to slap his bitch up ...
