It's all too early ...

I was in the office today at 07:40, something to do with a meeting. It's still early doors as I'm eating my porridge but blimey getting up in the winter ain't easy, it's not easy at all. Hats off to all those peeps that have to do it every day.

I watched some of that Sheffield/ Arse game last night. A strange affair but quite enjoyable. It's funny seeing a team actually put the work in against the Arse. It's what Charlton should do, but we believe the hype these days and never perform. Just one of my observations. It was funny to see the ref in the penalty shoot out. He was adamant that a goalkeeper was not going to come off of his line. Even when Almunia saved a pen he made Jagielka take it again. There was nothing wrong with the save, just a ref being bloody minded. We all know how that works, don't we.

It seems like the Charlton are making an effort to go to Foolham on Saturday. All the allocation has been sold and there's another 700 tickets been made available. Thee could be a good turn out. But you just get the feeling don't you? It will be a laugh right up until kick off. Then we'll all be told to "siiiiddddaaannn", and shut up. Been there done that ... I can't really remember the last time we had a good atmosphere at a game. It's always good up at the Toon, but you're so far away it hurts.

There's pics in the paper today of james Beattie having his set to. It's all very strange really that a professional football should get himself in this situation. But then again you've got Pennant and Keane in court on the same day. Too much money? Arrogance? Picked upon? You know where I'm coming from ....

The California Shield law!!!! What's that all about? Martin Bashir is protecting his sources, but that doesn't really add up. The questions asked seem to be ones that needed to be asked.

"How many hours of footage were cut ..?"

"Was he being paid as a correspondent at the trial ...?"

But he doesn't have to answer. Maybe I've missed that one as well.

Mobile phone rings!!! Does it prove what type of person you are? Only if you've got that bloody crazy frog one. Use silent and vibrate, you know it makes sense.

Oh and I see Carlisle's back in the news. Not content with flood, plague and tears it's now all down to a stone sculpture ... "The Cusing Stone". You can't make this stuff up.

My tune of the day: Let the music play - Barry White
