Back in black ...

Four games in four days. The thought was attractive, but in reality ... well my arm aches, feet blistered ... my head is thumping. Cricket, lovely cricket. Well it was three wins, until finally the wheels fell off over in the lovely village of Gotherington where the majority of the team spend the first half hour lying motionless in their pavilion.

"Oh my head ..."

If you've ever listened to local radio, don't. As the car meandered through country lanes, we listened to both Radio Swindon and Radio Oxford. It's totally unbelievable, for moments we were speechless ... but luckily not for long. Some lucky punter came on and told us what his old dad used to say.

"If your mother and a blackman where in a boat, that was sinking and you only had one life jacket who would you give it to?"

That's right ... your mother. It's easy as he continued ...

"You have to look after your own ..."

There was much mirth, but also a little headscratching at this. But hey what do I know ...

It was nice to see the Greeks win Euro 04, and they deserved it. Not that Des and the boys would have said so, or the tabloids given them much credit. No, we still live in the Rooney Wonderland ...

On a side note, it was really good not to have email/ internet access for a few days. I even read the Daily Mail to compensate ... now that does deserve a whoooosh.
