Taken from the Guardians Saturday magazine. Supposedly Hither Green is an up and comming area. Although you tend to read this an wonder what Hither Green they are reviewing.
I got this from a blog called personal ramblings from a guy who lives in Hither Green. You read it, you take it in .. then dissect it and realise that what I want and most people is something completely different.
To quote a few things from the blog -
"So why would I want to leave this place? A number of reasons both due to the flat and the area, the later due to it's location and, I have to say it, dullness. While it is quite quick to get into central London, having to stick to trains (there isn't a direct bus route, I'd have to change twice to get to the same area of central London) does limit you."
Why get a bus when a train works? Why do you want to live in an area that is full of noise, clubs, pubs, vomit, vandalism ... ?
Stick to Hither Green, it's couple of beggars, it's halfway house, it's skip hire place, it's weird Saturday meat factory. It works for me.
I woke this morning to torrential rain. When it rains hard it falls down onto the conservatory roof in great volume. There are weeds growing out of the guttering and it stops the water running smoothly along. I'll have to get this sorted as well, I can't be having that. My feet are sodden ... why are shoes not made water tight?
It was one of them wet, sweaty, damp train journeys this morning. Windows shut because of the rain, people kicking up because they had been caught in it. I couldn't stay like that all day.
I actually did something constructive last night. I put another coat of paint on the side wall in the kitchen, I put two pictures up, and contemplated putting a shelf up. Contemplated because I couldn't find my spirit level. When I finally realised it was in my new toolbox it was too late. The kitchen is getting there, and hopefully by Saturday it will be complete!!!!
Then it will be onto the conservatory. Once I've cleared out some of the old junk. Moved the wardrobe, the fridge-freezer, the cabinet, the empty boxes. Painted the bare wall, cleaned the curtains, and mopped the floor.
Oh Charlton have moved their reserve team down to Gravesend. Why don't they just move the whole shebang down to Kent, piss Scally off some more and have done with it. I wouldn't have to waste my time then.
