This time of year is actually quite weird. No work, not a lot to do but watch rubbish TV, and read rubbish newspapers. Today I learnt that the whole Ashes team are to get a New Years honour ...!!!! I learnt that Dennis Rickman in Eastenders is stabbed on New Years Eve !!!!!Micky Quinn gorged hi9mself at Christmas!!!!A girl aged 14 is bullied at school for being 20 stone!!!!!! Mystic Meg predicted that 2 peeps would win the lotto!!!! Becks wore a poncvho to dinner at Nobu!!!!! The Queen is going to abdicate!!!!! Hold on the last one may not be so true, but my Mum told me that on Christmas Day. She thinks now the Quen is 80 ... she will abdicate and Charles will become King George the something. Yep George not Charles, which is jinxed.
So has anyone been to the sale? Has anyone seen any bargains?? I popped into Selfridges the other day, but it was full of overpriced toot. I'm sure they have loads of rubbish sitting in the back especialy for this time of year. I did laugh when I saw a pair of Levi 501's reduced from £120 to £60. Hold on ... aren't 501's usually about 50-60 quid in every other shop? Or maybe it's me!!!!
Charlon are playing West Ham tomorrow ... bothered? I should be, but I can't get enthusiasm for a New Years Eve match ... what a load off old tosh. Just so they can play another game on 2 Jan. The FA are really taking the pish.
I see Vince and Mrs Vince got a mention i the Sun today. Vince moaned ... well that made me laugh.

Freezing
Right then ... as I lay on the sofa at 7:25 last night the news came that the Toon game was off. I did quickly think off all the poor Charlton souls who had made the trip up there, but I did think how lucky I had been not to stay up there for the game. John had said he had some spare tickets and tried to get me to stay. But I have to say wild horses ... wild horses.
It appeared tht Rommerdahl was back in the side. It seems strange that he didnt play against the Arse but what do I know.
It's my day off today and I'm at a loose end. I may have to crank up the heating and watch a DVD.

Back to the grind stone
Well as I sit here Christmas has been done and dusted. A nice drive down to Brighton followed by a trip up to the Toon for a night out works for me. I put myself through the Charlton/ Arsenal nonsence but by then I just needed some fresh air.
I can't believe it was 2 years since the last decent game at the Valley. Charlton 4 Chelsea 2. In the two years since we've had a few wins but nothing spectacular. It's crap actually but we all go. I was quite impressed with Thomas Myhre infact I am now an admirer of Myhre. Gonzo did well until he was taken out by that Arse muppet. Steve Bennett didnt get glasses for christmas.
I've got a full days work ahead of me as I sit here in Aldgate. It's so quiet is eeery. Not a lot of traffic and I have indigestion. I have eaten so much rubbish. I may go and watch King Kong tomorrow ....
I need a cup of tea ....

Yule Log
Christmas Eve and I'm on line. What is the world comming to? I have to go and pick up a car and then go and deliver a few pressies. I just have 10 minutes to kill ... so here I am.
I hope Santa brings you all you ask for, I hope there is peace and harmony around the world and that Thierry Henry has a bad day at the office and we can get right up em' ....
We need a bit of that Eddie Youds spirit.
Happy holidays ...

Pissed and emotional
It's actually quite good to go out and get pissed. It brings out the best in me. Sambucca shots being the ice breaker. Luckily I got a lift home. I didnt fancy stumbling and bumbling on the train.
I have to pop down to Sainsburys later. I have to pick up some goose fat and chestnuts for the dinner. Luxury items?
I bet Thierry Henry has a great Christmas. Couldn't believe his luck when he saw the fixtures. A shed full of goals down the Valley on Boxing Day.
I've got the Fantastic Four to watch on DVD on Christmas Day. Lying on my mums sofa chewing on a toffee or two.
Happy Christmas ...

Heavy Vibes
I finally received the last present this morning. I had thought that I had got all my timings wrong. Amazon are a bit of a liability like that. They just change delivery dates when they please. Sod that. Hopefully Brother G will be pleased.
I've been reading a lot about Jose Mourinho and Arsee Wenger of late. Do we care? Bovvvered? Well they seem to be enjoying their schoolboy feuding. A load of imbeciles the lot of them.
I actually watched Catherine Tate last night. I've never been that into it, but thought what the fcuk. It was actually quite funny, in a I know loads of them people type of way. Oh, and it was great to see Dave n'Chas at the End.
I'm actually looking forward to Christmas. I've got another lunch and some drinks tomorrow and maybe a curry on Friday. I think the gym calls. I need to get back to doing legs bums and tings ...

Decimal Points
Quite unbelievable. The grief a decimal point can cause when calculating figures. Put it in the wrong place and you are, as they say in France ... La Fcuked.
I just bought Norman Jays Good Times 5 CD. It's actually a good mix of tunes, and I get another shout out in the credits, respect.
I had a nice lunch with Claire today. She told me of all the nice christmas presents she has bought for people. Christmas is actually a lovely time of year. But Natasha has said her company aren't doing Christmas. They are Global company so don't celebrate. Unbelievable.
I'm a tad bored today ... do need to go have some chocolate.

Sing a happy song ...
I'm not sure I'd want to write anything about another Charlton disappointment on Saturday. Inept maybe, gutless for sure, cringeworthy without a doubt. How lucky was I that I didnt make the trip up to the JJB? This lucky ...
So can anyone explain how fixed the X Factor was? Yep Shane was ok, but when Cowell started purring over his Judy Garland impression you knew it was all over. He's the only one that would make them any money. Keely thinks Journey South will be the long game winners, but Cowell can only se the dollars shinning in his eyes. A young lad, nice voice ... Robbie Williams wannabe ... yep that's the way forward. I feel sorry for Brenda ... still the most pure voice on the show.
I didn't see Come Dancing but Goughy the winner. That's like Everest winning hair cut of the year.
I see Welling have been drawn away to Blyth Spartans of the Unibond Leage in the next round of the FA Trophy. A trip up North for the Wings, which could be interesting.
I did a bit of experiementing in the cooking department yesterday. I managed a cranberry/ maple syrup glazed chicken with Carrots Vichy, some roasted tats, and brussels with chestnuts in goose fat. It came out supurbly even if I say so myself ... so I'm down for the christmas dinner.
I also ended up watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory yesterday. Not a very good remake in my opinion. But I think you should watch Hitch, that was funny.

Toasted Sausage ...
So the party was a typical Christmasy affair ... vodka, food, more vodya ... ruined by the boss putting Sada Water in the Greygoose. So uncouth, with no style ...
I got home at 2:45 had some water and hit the sack. Seconds later the alarm was going off ... it was 7 o'clock. Why does that always happen? I was still dribbling when I jumped in the bath. Then the trains. Why is it so much easier to relax on the train when your still half cut? Headphones on, hood up .. sod the world.
It's another party tonight. It's a three way Birthday party, over Baker Street/ Bond Street way. I think it's going to be Brandy tonight. Or Dubonet. Can't decide. The only problem is the girls whos party it is are so old .... I'm sure it will be Like Back to 66 tonight.
It's the final of Strictly Come Dancing and X Factor tomorrow. Funny how they all finishg at once. I forgot Space Cadets is also finishing but sod that.
Charlton up at Wigan tomorrow. That was a game I wanted to go to, having never been to the JJB. But it's too near Chrimbo, I don't have the money ... maybe next year, if we stay up.
I need to have a stroll outside. The heebees are kicking in ... and I need some air. Cherry tomatoes and prawns. Mixed with some pesto, that'll do for my dinner.

At Lords where I saw it ....
It is a lovely game this cricket. But a few months after the hullaballoo about winning the Ashes, England limp home against an ever improving Pakistani team. Thwacked for over 350 in a one day game this morning, don't expect to read about Englands demise on the back pages. Take a look well inside. UManU will be on the back page ... aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh.
I caught up with Lost last night. I still can't work out what is going on. A deserted island, polar bears, weird stuff ... and death. That about sums it up. So I'll keep watching.
What is it with people who want to get up from their seats on a packed train and get to the door before the train is in the station!!!! This is whilst trying to put their jacket on and get their fags out. Luckily most of them don't have bikes.
Journey South ... what's that all about????
It's the office christmas party tonight. I'll try and stay clear of too much vodka ... but I can't promise anything.

74 seconds ...
Is anyone bothered? Alex Ferguson storms out, so what!!!! Move on I say, you're out of Europe well go win the league you idjut. UManU fans ... salt of the earth ... I doubt it.
I did 95 percent of my Christmas Shopping yesterday. I was quite surprised myself that I got it all done. I headed over to Oxford Street but was quite disappointed with the Christmasy feel of the place. Some cheap tat on the market stalls, and some shoddy window displays. I walked through Carnaby Street over to Covent Garden which had a Christmas Market with Santa right in the middle. You can't beat a few Christmas carols as well.
I wrapped all the stuff as well last night whilst watching Secret Smile on ITV. A bit strange it was too especially when David Tennant changed his accent because he was meant to be Scottish. All to far fetched for me.
I was listening to some tunes on the way to work and realised how selfish people actually are. There's some funny things people do that annoy me on the daily commute. You still get people sitting on the outside of a two seater when there are people standing. People who read their book miandaring down the platform once they get off. People who want to walk in a line, maybe 3 or 4 together so you can't get past. People who light up a fag as soon as they get off the train. Muppets on bikes that ride on the pavement or the wrong way down a street. Oh I could go on but that's not very Christmasy is it.
Have a mince pie this evening ...

Half Day ...
So I'm going to do my Christmas Shopping this afternoon. I think I'm going to head over to Selfridges, then wander down to Covent Garden to have a nose in Urban Outfitters. I need to get some kitsch stuff, so I may have to get down to Greenwich at some point.
I've just taken delivery of some office chairs ... flat packed!!!!! What's that all about ....??

Underneath the arches ...
So we all got suited and encamped at the Excel centre. What for I do not know? I have seen some rubbish in my time, but that took the biscuit. Twelve rounds of strictly come dancing ... without the hip wiggling. The joint stunk ... never again I tell thee.
At least the mighty addicks got three points. That was quite dire as well, but three points is three points and I'd have taken that all the start of the match. I did think Sunderland were poor and what Julio Arca is still doing there is beyond me, but never mind.
I watched the 6 episodes of Extras yesterday. There were a few laughs, especially with Les Dennis but all in all very strange.
I see that Richard Prior passed away on Saturday. Now he was a comedian.
It's been interesting reading about Alan Shearer again today. Graeme Souness has even launched an impassioned defence of his skipper. Don't make me laugh. Souness said, in the North we are more confrontational than the rest of the country. Is he having a bubble? What an idiot. Alan Shearer is a dirty player, always was, has been and will be. He cheats, he moans, he bitches. That's the bottom line. I've seen the tackle by Shearer on Campbell and he didn't even get a yellow. Gilberto got two yellows for tame tackles in comparrison. It makes me laugh.
I have to tidy the flat today. Oh and it's my Mums birthday. Happy Birthday mother dearest.

Real Issues
So Jimbob wants real issues!!!!!
Did you see Question Time last night? Real Issues, real issues ... we had to endure an hour of George Osborne, smug or what. He even quoted some goings on at the first Cameron/ Blair Prime Ministers Question Time. Cameron suggested that Mr Blair was "stuck in the past", and told him: "I want to talk about the future, you were the future once." He then went on to talk about Education. Good onHillaryy Benn who commented that Cameron had said schools should control their own admissions. Do we want to live in a country that goes for this? Maybe you do. You can stop the diverse mix of kids that actually hardens children to everyday life, or just let them mix with themselves. A class full of identikit children. You decide!!
I found it strange that David Cameron hasn't wowed us with any policies. They continue to bang on about giving the people what they want, an alternative to New Labour. But think back. Go on, just think back to when Mrs T was closing down the industrial north, privatising the railways, selling off all the council houses. What was the economy like then? What was the inflation rate? The interest rate? Need I go on?
A real issue iswhetherr Rads will be back in midfield come Saturday? He has been a scape goat , I freely admit. But theydefinitelyy missed him last Sunday when Man City had the freedom of South London. It will be an interesting game. A game Charlton should win, I say should with a grin on my face. I've never been to a game thinking we were going to win. Strange really ... even the pre season games at Park View Road. I'm actually looking forward to it. There should be quite a surreal atmosphere.
Keeping on a football theme, I was browsing Time Out on my way to work. I came to the sports pages and started to read Alex Hammonds take on the Charlton/ Sunderland match. Now are all journalists the same here. Do they not know the subject they are writing about? To quote this idiot .. "THE ADDICKS HAVE TRUDGED THROUGH AND MOSTLY LOST, SOMETRULYY TEDIOUS GAMES." So what tedious games were these? The 3-2 game against Spudz, the 3-1 against UManU, the 5-2 against City, the 3-2 game against Blackburn. Surely these gamesweren'tt tedious? The idiot then goes on to say that the only hope for excitement is that Charlton continue to freefall and are dragged into the exhilarating dog fight at the bottom. Now there you have it from a London magazine. I'm not sure why they don't keep theiropinionss to themselves.
I shaved all my hair off last night. I had been thinking about it for a few days and last night I just got the clippers out. It was damn cold this morning.
I have to get cracking with buying christmas presents. I haven't the foggiest what to get people, so I'm thinking of taking half day next week.

CHRISTMAS IS A COMING ...
It finally came home to roost, Christmas that is. I went to the London Palladium to see Tommy Steel in Scrooge and I'd have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had read some reviews that put a downer on it, saying it was not a great show, a bit sanctimonious, not in the spirit of how Charles Dickens would have seen a Christmas Carol ... but I would have to say I totally disagree. If you go and see a Tommy Steel musical you know what you are getting. Songs, songs and more songs. For 68 Tommy who still gets his Pie and Mash from Manzies is a consummate entertainer. If you enjoy this sort of thing at Christmas go and see it, or stay in and watch Space Cadets.
It seems I may be doing the Christmas lunch this year. I told my Mum that it's time for her to put her feet up and I will do the duty. I think I'll take down the Jerk seasoning and some sweet potato. I hope Jimbob gets some fizzy lemonade this year.
I see that Simon Jordan got fined. It was interesting seeing him comment outside the FA. He was, in his own words appalled, but not surprised. Then he went on to say something about nobody being beyond criticism, yadda, yadda. Blimey ... I had to sit down. This is the same Simon Jordan who carpeted Charlton fans for celebrating sending Palarse down. The same Palarse who don't care about Charlton, and don't see us as a rival. The same Palarse who cry and moan about everything, look at the current Andy Johnson situation with Werst Ham. Well Mr Jordan, if I may be so bold .. sod ya.
I actually saw that Michael Essien tackle last night. I wonder why Matty Holland doesn't tackle?
I've just been told the boys are going suited and booted to the Harrison/ Williams fight on Saturday. It may give me the opportunity to try out a new outfit.

Rose tinted glasses ...
A romantic notion that Southend victory. The day they came to town and whooped us 3-0. It was a comical game with comical Steve Brown defending. Poor old Jimbob, old age must be clouding his judgement. Yes we had a laugh, we even went and stood up the back of the stand with the shouty mob, but per-lease, it wasn't that good. The best game around this time was the 2-0 victory at the New London Stadium when Bows got sent off, Chicken Chapple got stretchered off and Morts rang rings around the blue hords in the snow ... oh what a day. Unfortunately football today is about the money. If they get paid 40 grand a week, they should show passion, they should show ability, they should show gile, tenacity, humour ... all the things Dandy Murphy lacks. In between his pirotetes he shows lack of ambition, moodyness ... contempt. Poor old Archibald he's got to put up with this shower as a 7 year old,
Now I saw the trailor for King Kong, and I have to say I'm looking forward to seeing it. Yes it's a tad Titanic like, as we all know the ending but it looks good. I am easily pleased I know, but it'll be like watching Vince with the hump.
It's Chelsea v Liverpool on the Champions League tonight. "V" HOW MANY OF THESE IN BOVVVVERED.
I had a non descript journey to work today. On the train, headphones on ... Raul Midon singing to me, a cheese biegel, happy days. The thought of Christmas Shopping is actually getting to me.
It's Tommy Steele tomorrow. Now I have been told the show itself is rather disappointing, but hey, it's an afternoon out of the office watching a christmas show.

I decided not to go to the match yesterday. I popped down the pub to give a a couple of tickets back and then went home. I didn't miss it, didn't feel any less of a fan ... I was just happy to sit on my sofa and watch Terminal with Tom Hanks instead of a bunch of terminals out on the pitch.
I had afternoon tea and cakes at the Park Lane hotel on Saturday. A very civil afternoon, in fact I could get quite accustomed to living the life. Everything was hunky dorry until a coach load of Russian Chelsea fans, scarves, bags etc all arrived on mass. Corporation footabll you can stick it.
I put the tree up yesterday as well. In fact after some initail problesm, like trying to set it up upside down it looks great. All black and tinselly ... with silver balls.
I am having an ongoing rice discussion at the moment and find some peoples method of cooking rice very slap dash. There seems to be a school of thought that has you overloading the nrice with water which is then drained off when the rice is cooked. I am told this is to clear any excess starch. Well you can imagine this being taught at school.
The early morning sun has disappeared and it's started to rain ... how depressing is that?
Oh and I found this pic in the draw over the weekend. Shout out to Mr Murray.

Trolly alert ...
Has anyone notice the amount of people with bags on wheels around town on a Friday. Cannon Street tube was like an It's a Knockout Special this morning, as people bumped and bored their way onto the platform. Big red ones, small black ones ... some as big as ya head. I don't get it, fat people wheeling little bags, pick them up and carry them you twats.
I still haven't got over the defeat on Wednesday but it seems Jerome Thomas did after getting arrested outside a nightclub last night. Go out, have a drink go home. It's not hard is it. Footballers, if they had brains they would be dangerous.
I was watching Sky Sports last night and they showed Alan Shearers assault on that Everton player a week or so ago. He stops. looks ... elbows. That spat with the Grimsby geezer wasn't his fault was it ... swings and roundabout.
It's actually December so I can start thinking of Christmas. I did a search for Christmas songs on my PC .. and was surprised to find some classics on there. Including a Sesame Street Medley. That may be Grahams tune of the day up in the Rockies. I also found some Stevie Wonder Christmas tunes. I can feel a new ringtone coming on.
I was thinking about Christmas pressies. It gets harder each year. Most people have everything they want ... so they just want frivolous things from the likes of me. My bro wants wine, my Mum a ghetto blaster, so I'm trawling the internet for one of these. Me, I haven't a clue to what I want.
Seems like the England Cricket team have come crashing down to earth. A day to save the match but still lose the series. Happy times ahead in India me thinks.
My tune of the day: Silver Bells - Stevie Wonder

Lemon Pudding
I got in last night and helped myself to a low fat Lemon Sponge Pudding, with added full fat custard, but somethings have to give. I needed cheering up, I needed some sort of comfort. Yep I had been down the Valley and sat there miserable as sin as Blackburn rolled into dodge and took away the bounty. For 75 minutes we had done okay. Not great, but okay. We had been two nil up and were going the right way in shutting the game down. Oh well this is Charlton that we support.
It was summed up by Jimminy Bob saying that Teddy had seen one victory this year. He has missed some of the night games as he's 7, also the Wigan game as he was on holibobs ... but had seen one victory in nearly a year. He should go follow Luton, at least it would be an adventure.
I'm not a great lover of booing the players, but I can't condone the people who did last night. They've paid their money, taken their chance and maybe needed to get another inept performance off of their chests. Danny Murphy got man of the match according to the Sun. Yep Danny scored a good goal but spent most of the game pirouetting, moaning ... standing still and trying shots from the halfway line. When the going gets tough our Dannys head drops, he struts, snarls ... loses the plot. Oh well it's only a game of football, it's not life or death.
It also made me laugh that Kish has been getting a hammering from a lot of supporters. Well we all have different outlooks on the game, but I just see the mistakes that Kish makes actually being punished and teams scoring goals from them. Against Chelsea, against Spurs ... against Blackburn. I know he doesn't do it on purpose but a mistake is a mistake is a mistake. Sometimes you need to give him a break, let him reflect have a week or so off ... he'll still get his money.
I've just been looking at the Charlton website. It actually brightened my morning to see some of the quotes.
"If I'm being honest I would have swapped a result tonight for a win on Sunday. Everyone talks about wanting a cup run but I'm not sure how much the fans want it - it was a half-empty stadium out there. The league is what we're all about."
Yep that's why I wasted 15 notes. I could have stayed in and watched Lost.
I got the DLR into work today. I saw on the news that the trains and District line weren't chipper so decided to take a stroll. It's a different type of commute on the driverless train. It gets packed up until Canary Wharf then theres room to swing that cat. It's more of a summer trip though, so I'll be back with the bike pushers, rucksack wearers tomorrow.
