Sang Big Bazza, and it feels like it today. The cold winds are kicking in, and added to the rain, well Autumn is finally here.
So we could say the Football season is finally upon us. Well it seemed like that on Saturday with the last game this year when it will be light at the end of play. Not counting the 12:45 Everton jobbie. The clocks go back on Sunday. An extra hour in bed ....
Well Watford came, they defended and in reality had the chance to get their first 3 points of the season. Darius Henderson must have been kicking himself all the way home. How he missed that chance in the second half he, and I will never know. I would have even said that Kevin ... no even Gerru would have scored that one. Anyway we got out of jail, picked up a point and roll onto St James Park next week. Sod Bolton on Wednesday, I will be having a nice dinner and meeting up with my Mum.
Oh didn't it rain yesterday!!!! I ended up watching Kung Fu hustle. Better than I thought. Prime Suspect was also a little disappointing. We had worked out who did it at the end of the first show, and sat and watched the Cops finally figure it out. It wasn't as good as I had hoped, but hey it's drama on ITV.

Back
Well yesterday I couldn't get out of bed. Sniffles, a headache and general lethargy. Rock on.
Andre and Price
Now you have to listen to this. A locked on contender for Christmas number one. Totally unbelievable really. Why can't I get a record deal?
It's the return to Powelly tomorrow. I'm thinking he won't start. But Romm vs Powell, Dicks vs Mills anyone.
I'm trying not to think about the game. It was obvious as soon as we made it Operation Cottaging that we were going to get turned over. Remember the mask day, or the Yellow day against Forest, or the Red day against Pompey. It never works. So just treat tomorrows game as a normal Saturday, standard fair/ fayre. Leave all the 6 pointer nonsense to Sky.
Talking of Sky I've finally bit the bullet and gone and got Sky plus. Only because Lost has gone to the damn fleecers. Sky One from now on, no Channel 4. That means more ads, more general stupidity all round.
I've just finished a Body attack class. It has to be the hardest class at the gym. Two new blokes started but walked out half way through. It's all about rhythm.
Oh I forgot to mention the West Indies beat Australia the other day. That leaves England and Australia in a must win match tomorrow. That's quite funny.

Ho hum
It's taken all day to log on.
Now I'm here, I have nothing to say. That must be due to half a bottle of red at lunchtime.
I was going to watch Welling tonight, but I need a night in. Chelsea v Barca may work. And some pasta.
It's nearly christmas.

Oh well
It's going to be a long cold winter. Charlton as expected rolled over for 5 minutes, and lost. You have to take your chances and as the better team in the first half you have to make it count. Fulham were never going to be as dire in the second half and when they brough on Claus and put 3 in the middle we didn't combat it. If you don't shoot you don't score. But when can you take a realistic look at what Dowie has done. In January? In May when we may well be relegated? Or now? When Fulham changed their formation we didn't. Would Allerdyce not have seen it, or Pardew, or even Curbs. Who knows? I don't ... but it was bloody awful to watch. Oh well, a 30 yard screamer from Christopher Powell on Saturday?
Domestic Violence surged during England's matches during the world cup. Ho hum.
I was reading the Metro this morning and chuckled at Larushka Ivan-Zadeh's take on Vincent last night. Supposedly the Cockney jargon on the show is absurd and is a giraffe. She goes on to say that no one uses the term jacksey!!!! Well having sat through loads of Northerneque TV and not understood a flippin' word it would be good to hear Vincent at his Cockney best waxing lyrical about Tommy Steele, Pickled Onions and Mr Woo. I've heard people say jacksey even if Larushka hasn't. I don't watch it myself, but I may just start.

It's finally here ...
Well a month ago I went to my last Charlton game. A 1-0 defeat to Pompey. A month, a bleedin month .... it's a great game this football. It's all over to Putney on the river boat anyone?
I went to see the Devil Wears Prada on Saturday. A bit of a chick flick but good none the less. It was definitely better than watching X Factor, so they can stick that. We had a lovely pre cinema meal at Pizza Express in Stratford ... NOT. I've never had a bad experience with Pizza Express, a nice brand, nice pizzas but this was taking the piss. We arrived, where greeted and seated. A few minutes the order was taken and a few minutes after that our drinks arrived. We had a laugh, drank and chatted. Then did it some more and then some more. We looked around, there were a few people in, but not a lot, all of them lacking one thing .... food. Well a few had some food but not many. Anyway we waited, waited some more and waited again. No more drinks, no waiter interaction. Finally some 70 minutes later I summand the manager, he shrugged, shrugged some more, said they were busy then walked off. He returned with a handful of orders, they hadn't even started to cook ours yet. Talk about take the piss. As I had sat there I had noticed quite a few take away orders being bagged up. Take care of your sit down customers first is what I say. I won't be going there again. Pizzas, I may just give up on the damn things.
Oh and if you missed Prime Suspect you deserve to be locked in a room and made to watch Love Island. A quality piece of TV, quality acting an alround great 2 hours on the sofa.
I finally got a video and was able to watch the last two episodes of Lost. Quality, but what that was all about I'm sure I'll find out in 6 months.

Roll on the weekend ....
Well it must be touching 20 degrees outside. I did another Body Attack class, came outside and within seconds I was sweating bucket loads again. It's all good though, it's got to be better than that there rain.
Oh it's a double dose of fear today. Not only is it Friday 13th, but the numeric notion of the date adds up to 13, 10/2006. Well that's made it a tad better.
I'm actually quite looking forward to the match on Monday. We'll still be bottom, but the only way is up. We haven't won at Foolham in years, so get them masks out and let's give it some.
I think I may go to the cinema Saturday night. Just to get out of the boring X Factor routine. I just end up watching this shite. Without even realising.
It's Southport in a couple of weeks. I had better get a few outfits sorted. I'm not sure what look to go for!!!!

Well maybe it was part Neville Nevilles boy, but please. It's all billy big bollox and Bentleys. They aren't interested in the European Championship, or playing for your country.

Rain
The thunder and lightning .... jesus. A week ago I was just back from Ibiza. I was chilled, brown and happy. Now I'm just wet through.
Although it's now sunny.
I've just done a Body Attack class. Now I know I havn't exercised in 2 weeks, but bleeding hell. That was hard. I showered, sweated, showered again ... then sweated. Quality stuff.
I ended up watching some of the Under 21's last night in between Eastenders. Two good goals by the boy Theo.
It's the Money boys tonight over in Croatia. Expect to see our Darren sitting on his ass.
Oh it's nearly the weekend, and I was thinking of popping over to Hornchurch/ Upminster to see Welling play AFC Hornchurch in the FA Cup. I may not bother though. It depends on the weather, and whether I get myself up.

There you go a few more holiday pics ... it's lucky I took my books with me.
Love saves the day
The Secret History of Disco
A quality read if you like music. And it made me come back and buy "A Tom Moulton Mix" which I would also recommend.
Talking of holidays, I haven't shared the sights I actually saw. Like the English bloke who took off his sandals to walk down the beach in his socks. The English lads who trying to communicate with the Spanish waiter shouted their order in order to be understood. The English couple who felt safer in the US than they did in Suburban London, I doubt they were hanging in the South Bronx. It's safe to say it was the English peeps that gave me a chuckle.
Oh it's the Under 21's tonight. Think I'll watch Eastenders.

The Wayne in Spain ...
Well he might as well have been ... he was of no use at Old Trafford on Saturday. Me I went to Lakeside, did a bit of shopping. The new furniture store Ilvea, popped into TK and Ikea. Then a nice drive along the A13, until we did a merry dance around Green Street/ East Ham and Wanstead. Traffic signs, don't you love them.
I've had so much trouble buying a VCR / Video Recorder it's laughable. Curry's have 2 both retailing at around £60!!!!!! Asda, had one which was out of stock, Tescos don't do them. So I'm looking on ebay, and of course it's all cheap tat. If I wanted a DVD, then I could get one for 14 notes. Work that one out.
It'll be another weekend free of football next week as we play on the Monday. Operation Cottaging seems to be coming along. Loads out for the occasionn, but you'll see us all sitting down on the box. Maybe a clap here a clap there ... a da-da-da maybe? I can't wait.
I've got to put the hoover around tonight. Theflatt needs a good spring clean. I was thinking of getting a cleaner in but not sure if they are worth the money. I'm sure any cleaner employed would be young and Eastern European!!!! Ho hum.
The sunsshiningg but it's still cold. The jumpers are out and I'm wearing the full tweed ensemble.

The rain in Spain ....
Ain't nothing like the vrain in Tower Hill ... B Jesus.
So what do you think about Jack Straw? I think most of the women in Blackburn should wear bags on their heads. don't worry about veils. Some right old sights I tell thee.
I have to say I stayed up and watched the Sopranos last night. A quality show, and Big Vito a fag. It made me laugh.
No football this weekend comes as a blessing. Well England will be toying with 3-5-2, or 3-1-1-2-1-1, or 1-9 whatever it is. They'll huff and they'll puff and then Crouchie will score a looping header. Interesting ... I kid you not.
It's 3:45 roll on 5:30, my washing is calling me.
I'm still in holiday mode, so please excuse me ...

Never never land
Well Peter Pan can kiss my a$$. I'm back and it's more like stone cold rainy land. I was on the beach two days ago supping a beer and oiling myself. That's a perfect October in my book.
I was also strolling hand in hand down Old Ibiza Town way when I got a text telling me Arse had won 2-1. I shrugged and went about my business. I was wearing flip flops and shorts, and was hoping it was raining in blighty.
It seems like we'll be moving from the Valley in the future, Josh Wright will be poached by a "bigger" club, we're on a losing run .... blimey the more things change.
I had a lovely peaceful time in Beefa. The weather was spot on, the food lovely, what more can your common man want? It was good to see the football shirted brigade in the minority, although I did wear some basketball ones.
I even read a couple of Disco books. Some interesting stuff there, although I won't bore you.
Operation Cottaging ... a great idea.

Idiots ...
So I go to get my travel money. It was booked on Friday through Lloyds TSB - Travel Money. It's part of the account I have, 15 notes a month for the AA/ Travel Insurance/ Card Protection/ travel money. Anyway, they don't have the money. The money has left my account, but it's not in the Whitechapel branch. The teller looks at me like I'm an idiot. Well can I have my money back? NO!!!! CAN YOU RING THE TRAVEL MONEY HOTLINE AND SEE WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON .... NO!!!!! They are proper crap.
So I phone them myself. It's the Royal Mails fault!!!!!!!! They haven't delivered it. I ask you. Royal Mail. So there's me 200 notes down, no Euros and they are blaming the Royal Mail.
So what to do. Well get some money changed at the airport and they will reimburse the commission. Is that a definate I ask? Of course they reply!!!! I shake my head. So when I return, my 200 notes will be nestling in my bank account, and I can send them the commission receipt and they will pay it. I say, watch this space.
Lloyds f'n Bank, can kiss my ass.
There was a fire alert at the gym today. 45 minutes standing around outside. Well I did a 3 mile run. Oh and I've lost 4 pounds. Spin on that Tash ... I'll be having my Lobster on Monday.
Anyway ... I'm winging my way to Ibeeefa in the morning. Touch wood ... so may not get to update my words here ... hey, it's happened before ... so just bare with me on this.
Happy holidays everyone ...

Rain
Has anyone ever experienced osmosis of the trouser? Yes I was caught in the rain, I had an umbrella, but still the water is up to my knees. I'm sodden.
I put the radio on twice on Saturday. At 4:48 we were 1-0 down and at 5:39 we were 2-0 down. Oh well ... I think we are doomed, but a lot of people are still wearing them free rose tinted spectacles that get handed out every 15 years.
I had a buying fest at the 95pence shop yesterday. Sun cream, after sun, shampoo, cool box ... did I tell you I was going on holiday? Get in there ...
Oh I saw that John Glover the old Welling player has passed away. I remember John as a rather rugged player with quite a bit of ability, given the general standard of Wellings play at that time.
Did I mention that I'm going on holiday?
I've realised that I've been a bit lackadaisical with my training regime over the last month or so. I think I need to get back to a 4 day gym week, as opposed to a 1 or 2 day gym week. Maybe do a 5 times a week routine for a month, just to get back into the groove.
Blimey just seen this on the faith site ...
Real music for real music lovers -tonight on SKY -CHANNEL 267 ARTSWORLD. Terry Callier in concert @10pm ... oh yes yes YES. Enjoy!

Golf
It's the Ryder Cup and we should all rejoice. Golf is the game of the people, and it's great especialy in this weather.
I'm Tiger Woods ...
Today is definately yesterdays yang. It's raining proverbial cats n'dawgs. I had to nip over to Canary Wharf and didn't take a brolley. Wet, you betcha. My shoes are soddened, socks now starting to chuck up a bit and all in a seasame seed bun. I love the rain.
Not only was I overcharged on that damn pizza, I was overcharged on my newish case yesterday. I was on the DLR when I found the receipt and looking down at it realised that they had charged me £40 instead of £20. I put my card in and didn't look at the amount. Now there's a lesson for you. Always look at what the fcukers are charging you!!!!

The King of Spain ...
Blimey, I didn't see that one coming. Page 15 of London Lite .... Inane, sometimes inept ramblings from deepest, darkest South London. Well they got that bit correct, but Spain isn't Sweden, and as much as I would like I can't be King of more than one kingdom.
I'll be King of the Balearics next week though ... and I'm going to Lord it like a Lordy thing. A newish case has been purchased, basketball tops and shorts rolled. All I need now is sun cream, and insect repelant. Then I'm packed.
I'll be missing the Arse game. Thierry Henry can kiss my arse ... vaaaavaaaa f'n vooooom.
I can't really believe how hot it is. There's me in jacket and baseball cap ... when I should be in speedos and swimming cap. I think I'll be sitting in the garden tonight.
I've just had an email about tidying the office. A clean desk policy. I'm not sure if they are having a pop about the 15 magazines and newspapers on my desk, or the ream of filing. It made me laugh anyway.
Lloyds have advertised a savings account at 8%. Blimey I may have to stick a pound in and open an account. Fill ya boots.

Musings ...
So the King is dead long live the King.
How amusing was it that we ... that's the royal we, sang "Your support is f*c&i$g shite ..." Yea right.
Did you squirm when "we" sang "Stand up for Alan Curbishley ..."
Did you shake your head when we sand "Iain what's the score "
It was one of them nights. A typical Cup match down at the Valley. We can make anyone look like Brazil. Good on Carlisle, but please ...
It was good to see the Cupboard end taken over by the spotty herberts. They can't get up there usually, so good on them. Is there a time when the usual patrons should move? Go sit in the East Stand and allow the Herberts their rightful place in the sun!!!!
I had an interesting discussion with Vince in the Oak. There is a need to promote Charlton, and or the Charlton experience within London. Around Lewisham, Greenwich not just Dover and Herne Bay. Just a thought really.

The Honeymoon ...
If you start a new relationship, you can honestly say you'll get a good 6 months before Mr Mundane kicks in. You know them heart fluttering moments when she calls, sending flowers, aranging surprises, meals out, meals in, candles, clean bedsheets when she's going to stop over!!!! You get what I'm saying ...
Anyway I'm not waiting 6 months with Mr Dowie before I get a little concerned. My tether reached half way on Saturday when the jumping bean Lua Lua found half a yard and fired past Willie in the goal. I then sat there for 15 minutes as we stroked the ball around and showed no urgency until injury time. Matt Holland I don't understand. It's like he's treading water when he runs. Marcus Bent doesn't move, doesn't know where the channels are, Jimmy moans (but we knew this before we signed him), Darren Bent doesn't get a decent pass all game, so the concensus must be to make sure he remains fit so we can sell him in January, Kishishev has an anvil for a foot, Luke Young, Darren Ambrose on the left means that they continually cut back onto their right foot, Jon Fortune is not fit but was willing to play, and this cost us the goial as he couldnt or wouldnt put his foot into a tackle, and poor old Amdy couldn't do it all himself.
It's Carlisle tomorrow and I'm sure they aren't quaking in their boots. I actually prefer these games because I get to see players who arent paid thousands to be shite. I remember when I knew most players in the Football League, nowadays I couldn't tell you who's who ... oh well, that's me being 27.
It's another lovely day ... all a bit weird given that August was wet and wild. Here's hoping it continues.

The word on the street is that the Oak has a 10am licence for Saturdays game. It made me laugh when someone suggested that that would be ok to be served by midday. I can't be bothered going in there. The service is shocking, I'll keep my money in my pocket and buy a programme.

Oyster me up ...
Do I want an Oyster Card? No I bleedin well don't. It's what keeps South Londoners sane, and shows that Red Ken knows nothing about our needs, our wants or infact concerns. Four notes to travel on the tube!!!!! It's 10 pence in Spain, 15 pence in New York, free in Kazikstan. Oh well, seems like we'll all be walking loads come January.
It seems like no one leaves me comments any more. Blimey, I remember the days.
Anyway earlier this week, I stopped by to get a pizza. The place I stopped at i'd never been in before. It was a nice pizza place. It was clean, it had video games and, most importantly, it served pizza, which is essential for any good pizza place. If a pizza place doesn’t serve pizza, it's just a place. I ordered a specialty spicy pizza which, in this neck of the woods, spicy means they throw some jalapenos on it and they are about as spicy as my day old boxer shorts (which vary in their spiciness from day to day, admittedly) and some garlic bread, and I handed over my trusty debit card to pay for the circular Italian delicacy.
It was at this point that things became interesting. The credit card swiping machine was apparently having problems dialing into the great credit card processing deity in the sky, so the cashier continually swiped and swiped and swiped my card. And I started to sweat.
Here’s the deal: I’m very ... protective ... of my money, primarily because I have so little of it. I watch over my money like a dragon lording over its horde, except that, instead of a horde, I basically have a few quid and some change. So, when I hand over my debit card to a third-party swiper, there’s a considerable level of trust being exchanged. Eventually, my card swiped successfully, and I signed off on a £11.70 pizza bill. And it was a good pizza, although I’d hesitate to call it spicy. Generally speaking though, all was right with the world.
Well, the next day, I visited a hole in the wall and conducted a withdrawal. When the receipt was spat out, I noted, with recoiling horror, that I was basically broke, even though I knew that simply couldn’t be the case. As with most instances when I’m confronted with information that simply cannot be true, I consulted the Internet, which always tells me what I want to hear. I dialed into my secure banking on line thang and, to my additional horror, the Internet told me the same thing the cash point receipt told me.
Now frantic, I called my the 0845 bank number to see where all my precious money went. The cheerful voice (welsh!!!!) on the other end started reading off a list of my most recent transactions: Amazon £8.20, British Gas £25.90, Pizza Place £1,170.
WHAT?! How much?! I mean, it was good pizza, sure, but not ELEVEN HUNDRED POUNDS good!
I went on line and found and called the pizza place, and by immediately I mean I couldn’t dial the phone fast enough. Smoke curled up from my fingernails from the sheer friction of my frantic dialing. According to the pizza place, they only tallied £300 in credit card sales the day before, so whatever happened didn’t happen on their end. I was left with the dreadful thought that my £1,170 was possibly gone for good, lost in the credit card processing ether.
I called the bank again and explained the situation as it now stood, while also asking the cheerful voice on the other end (asian) if a £1,170 pizza bill really made any sense at all given the history of my previous transactions. She graciously admitted that it did seem rather peculiar. Thank you, cheerful voice. In the end, the processing error was rectified, and my £1,170 was transferred back into my account, and I collapsed onto the floor in relief.
But let this be a lesson to you: swipe once and only once, and if you see someone swiping your card more than once, tackle them and punch them in the groin.
That's what I'm going to do ...

Well i put the radio on this morning as I headed towards the Blackwall Tunnell and it was all 9/11. Fairs fair really, although it doesn't seem 5 years ago. Maybe it does. I think that what has happened over here has put it all into a reality zone, so I will be donning my hat today, as a mark of respect.

Take a time out ...
Well I must have subscribed to Time Out for just about a year. A weekly listing of all things to do in our great city. Cinema, theatre, a nice meal out, maybe a comedy show. Yep done them all. It's a thoroughly great read. It gives me the cost, the times, the dates ... absolutely everything. Yes, everything.
However ... and you knew there would be a however, it does like the sound of it's own voice. Well I say own voice, I mean voice of it's smug contributor. An example being details of the Chelsea v Charlton game tomorrow. Tell me the kick off time, tell me the price, but keep your West London biased oppinions to yourself. DB, we'll call him (but it could be a her)DF, because they only saw fit to write their initials at the end of the piece. Anyway DF really got my goat.
Just had a look on the Time Out webpage and DF is listed as Dave Faulkner. Go into google and see if you can find anything about this twat, because I cant be arsed ...
Anyway, I digress. DF thinks of himself of a wag. No not wife or girlfriend but a bona fide wag. Or otherwise he would have left his views at the bar in one of them cracking Australian Bars they have over that side of London. To quote, and I am happy to do that:
"Charlton usually enjoy their visits to Stamford Bridge and although it probably rankles that knocking the Blues out of last season's Carling Cup on penalties only counts as a draw (thus preserving Jose Mourinho's amazing home record). (No, nothing rankles here DF, we won and that's that). Nevertheless, their fans can still boast that they were the sole team to take a point from the fortress (sic!!!!) in last year's Premiership campaign. It's not difficult to assess the Addicks' start this term: swamped at West Ham (before and after Traore's sending off), (HELLOOO!!!!! Where you there DF, no you bleedin wellweren'tt, swamped is not the terminology I would have used as we were 1-0 up when Djimmi saw red.), thrashed by an in-form Manchester United (THRASHED!!!!) then belatedly seeing off a Bolton side who can't remember the last time they won away (Well given that we hadn't beaten Bolton at home in the Prem, it was a game after 2 defeats, and we had HH sent off, I think we did pretty well to beat "or" bogey team) . But after the Blues' shock defeat against Middlesbrough you can be assured nothing will be taken for granted. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will be afforded a warm welcome again (I don't think so) , but it's his partner Darren Bent who'll provide the threat should his pedestrian team-mates in midfield and defence (now DF is proper having a laugh!!!! Frank Lumpard second best player in the world, I'll get my boots.) resort to last term's route one football. (And Chelsea never lumped it up ... no, no never!!!!!)
You know what? I'm actually pretty cheesed off with that. I buy TimeOut for it's listings not itspettinesss. Pay 50 notes to squat at Stamford Bridge, no thanks. I'll savour the moment at 4:45.

Blimey, Sven is being linked with Wet Sham. I bet that made Al spit his Rice Crispies out this morning. They get everything they deserve.
Marcus Trescothick is alergic to India!!!! That sounds a tad like Rav who I'm convinced that the nearest he's been to the sub continent is Plumstead.
I've just been reading letters in the paper praising Australia on its immigration rules. I'm not sure what their rules are, I did a google search and came up with something from 2003. I may head down to Earls Court and find out.
Oh hang on the word is Australian PM John Howard has taken a firm stand and told immigrants they must adopt the nations culture if they want to live there. Learn the language and the Aussie way. Australian Culture!!!!! So they want all Immigrants to build a barbie, listen to Jason/ Kylie/ INXS and dersicute any Abo you may come across. Harsh ... but true.
So my brother leaves for France today ... good luck.
I've just eaten my lunch, avocado and prawns. I had some celery from breakfast. May have some artichoke for dinner. Oh, maybe not.
Seems like Gibralter have been allowed to join UEFA. I'm going to push for the Isle of Dogs to join to.

In the eye of the beholder ...
So I subscribe to GQ. Not such a bad thing!!!! You get to smile on the od occassion, look at a gadget (out of your price range) and say what if. Put together a make believe outfit from Prada, stone island and Alex McQueen ... and looks at tn'a ... ho hum. But now they've gone and said Russell Brand is the Most Stylist Man of the Year. Because he wears, scarves, waistcoats, pointed shoes and has big hair!!!!!
HELLLLLLLOOOOOOO!!!!!!
I'm reading the Metro and supposedly girls are handing out cards with their names on demanding a date. I'm sure if Kev had been working in the City he would have had to take a separate bag to work .... NOT.
Just done Body Attack. It's not the best thing to do on a Low Carbs diet. Eat porridge or a banana.
Did you see Lost last night? Well that's going to really put the cat amongst the pigeons. I had a quick shufty on the Lost Forums (yes, I know quiet sad) and people give spoilers away about what is happening in series 3 already. Can't they just leave alone?
England did well in the cricket last night ... maybe we can expect the same in the footie this evening.

Celery ...
Ham and celery for breakfast, jeeez that rocks.
It's midday already, only an hour til Body Max. I haven't been to the gym for over a week, so it's going to hurt. But no pain, no gain. Quote me on that.
I fancied a change last night and got the DLR home. It's surprisingly smooth, although slightly annoying in that it stops every 100 yards. Oh and the bus from Lewisham was like a cattle market.
Jelly and cream that's the pudding of choice, mark my words it'll be as big as leggings this winter.
It's quite interesting having a garden that you can potter around as opposed to an overgrown hovel. Each evening I've drunk a cup of coffee in the garden whist admiring the handiwork. It's actually therapeutic. I can see how gardening can be a good past time, not that I'd want to be digging and planting every weekend. Cut the grass ... you're 'avin a laugh ... gravel that's where it's at.
I didn't mention yesterday that Charlie Williams had passd away. I met him once in Bournemouth. During one of those drunken Weekenders. He even signed a card for me ... respect me old flower.
I've finally booked my holiday. The NE coast of Ibiza. I just hope the sun shines. It means I miss the Arsenal game, oh well ...not going to miss much there am I!!!!

Didn't do it ...
Well would you appreciate Earth without the Wind and Fire or Fatback without the Band. Well blow me down, there was I for Grandmaster Melle Mel and only 2 of the Furious 5 came out on stage. I think the other 3 would have been furious not going on tour. Apart from that it was good. But a tad steep for an hour long showcase, but he is getting on a bit.
I painted the fence on Sunday morning. I dodged the rain clowds and as I finished the sun came out. Now I have to get the Ivy stroke clemantis to grow up the bleedin' thing.
Peter Crouch got a brace on Saturday. He needs a hood mind you.
I settled down to watch the Brazil/ Argentina game yesterday from the Emirates. No Adriano, no Ronaldo, no Ronaldinho. The start of a new era??? You bet ya. The Argies were put to the sword, swished away, good to the boys from Brazil. The Kaka goal was Kevin Lisbiesque ... I kid you not. Onto White Horse Lane to watch Wales on Tuesday. What with their transport infrastructure, your having a laugh.
The sun has snuck out this afternoon. Rock on is all I can say. And rock on my holibobs. Three weeks and counting.

All that Jazz
Yep it's the Jazz Cafe on Saturday to see Grandmaster Melle Mel. White Lines, I can't wait!!!!
So there we have it, Ashley Cole finally buggered off to Chelskov, Reyes to Real Madrid, Tevez to Wet Sham!!!! Yeah right, that makes you want toinvest all your money into Football.
Charlton went and signed Omar Pouso on loan. Who he!!! It's a strange time down at the Valley.
I watched some of the Sopranos last night. Having missed much of the last series it seemed a bit all over the place. I should get the DVD's, but can't actually be bothered.
I need to paint the garden fence in "Seagrass" this weekend. Oh how I rock.
It's only Friday afternoon ... work sucks.

Blimey, it only took a day and a half, but I got there. My brother house sat on Monday to take delivery of the gravel and plants, so respect to him and the help in digging up the tree stumps, planting the er, plants and setting the gravel. As pointed out by Claire I have to we warey about Cats shitting, but hey lifes a bitch. It actually felt good to look out of the kitchen window and see a real garden, and not the overgrown for 3 years one I had there previously.
We got a win on Saturday. Finally putting Bolton to the sword ... or maybe that should be elbow. It's a funny old game this football. Different people saw HH's indiscretion in different lights. The bloke behind me saw nothing wrong. Vince thought HH was an idiot stroke liability. As for Kevin Davies and Fat Sams appeal you have to just put your hand up sometimes and say fairs fair. Davies spent the whole match living on the edge. Finally he fell on his sword. Ho hum.
It's transfer deadline day. So we may see some action ... well we've already got Souleymane Diawara in through the door. What with El Kak, and Djimmi in the back four it looks like Luke is going to have to learn French. I wonder if our lot will sing "Enger-land" when we play the Arse. Surely we can't do that now?????
At least the suns shinning.

Well that's all folks ...
Fourty odd mill later and it's all over for the Blue Brigade. They drew Barca in the Champions league, a day or so after being dumped by Boro. So that's there season over. If it wasn't so funny I'd laugh. Poor old Ballack.
We head onto the second home game of the season with nowhere to go. We could try Marcus or Kevin up front, Kish in the middle, Rommo out wide. So what, it's Bolton. You know Kevin Nolan is going to score. Put fifty pence on it.
Now what I want to know is if they do cuttlery in the pound shop. I need to get some for the office. Oh and a bowl or two.
It's August bank holiday. It was a year ago that I headed off to Philli. How time flies. August Bank Holiday is usually the cut off point for Summer. It's all down hill towards Autumn, and then putting the bleedin clcoks back. What's that all about? Then Halloween, and Guy Fawlkes ... onto Chrimbo. Then we start all over again. Talk about wishing your life away.
I'm hoping it doesn't rain Tuesday or Wednesday. That's when I'm gardening ... so that'll be that then!!!!!

Man bites dog
Beep, beep ... another text. Blimey Gonzalo Sorondo has fractured his back. So what's the deal here I thought. Another 4 months sitting on his ass picking up 10 grand a week!!!! Andy Reid had problems getting out of bed, Jimmy Floyd had problems running and Matt Holland has problems impersonating a footballer.
Well that was another stuffing at the hands of UManU. Why we even bother is beyond me. But hey at least we had the weather.
I couldn't get my head around all the "Eng-er-land" nonsense. Charlton sand Engerland and UManU sang Portugal/ Argentina. Oh well it was all fun.
It was brought home to me last night, when we tried to take a quick freekick and the UManU player wouldn't retreat. Luke played the ball against him, and the ref laughed. Five days previously Djimmi was sent off for doing the same. Reality ...
Things that are annoying me today:
- People clipping their nails in the Office.
- People reading books as they walk down the platform.
- The rain.
- The thought of circuits at the gym.
It had better stop by next week. I've got two days of gardening to do. I've just spoken to my Bro, who's planning the operation. I should really do a blog like Barnie. Riscardos Garden - Heaven or Hell. Oh watch this space.

Rubbish
Beep, beep... a text from Sir JimBob. He says he’s a but worried about tonight, It could be a real thrashing. He’s resigned to relegation, and we’re going to be no better than Sunderland.
Blimey Sir ... I nearly spat out my coffee. Worried, a thrashing. It's never been anything else against UManU. Well we had that 3-3 about 100 years ago. But 3-1, 4-0 in the last 2 seasons. Oh well.
I'm not exactly expecting the world tonight.
My number has finally ported over to O2. So I'm using the White Chocolate number. First impressions are not great. Can't send calls directly to voicemail, it doesn't have the time as a screensaver, it idles after about 10 seconds, I can't view some to my pictures. Well it's only a phone.
Seems like I'm on the credits to Good Times 6. Big up respect to Storming Norman.

Cricket, lovely cricket
Well Cookster brought it up, but now the real truth comes out maybe I can put my tuppenth in. As long as we've all been playing cricket, we all know that everyteam tampers with the ball. They spit on it, they rub it in the dirt, they pull at the seam, they rub it on their sweaty balls. But it's always the infidals that get the blame. Mike Gatting started it, and now Fletcher carries it on. Secretly going to the match referee to snitch on the oppo. Quality bit of cricket ethics that, but that's what you expect from England.
I can't believe that's gone down here though ... Pakistan were stuffing up England, but hey ho.
It would appear that Marcus Bent may be on his way!!!!!!
I also noted on the Pink Oboe list someone prasising Rob Elliott for Stanley beating Forest. Given that he was injured Pre-season I think our Rob didn't really contribute too much.
Blackberry's = Crackberry's ... now that made me laugh.

I've been banging on about this for years since that purple and green shirt. Take a close lok at this picture and see how difficult it is to pick out Matt Holland. It's the colour of the kit!!!! We should be wearing illuminous shirts so when Dazza is through the playmaker!!!!! could actually pick him out.

Familiarity breeds contempt
Or so they say. I don't believe it, or didn't that is until I turned up at Upton Park on Saturday. Another saying is, the more things change the more they stay the same. Does anyone know that one?
So we rolled out a couple of new signings. Carson in goal, now I won't call him Frank because Frank Carson usually puts on a good performance, Amady Faye who seemed a tad lost, but playing with Matt Holland you can understand why, Jimmy of the Hasselbaink was lesft on his own, and started to moan too early in his Charlton career for my liking, and last but of course not least Djimmini "Cricket" Traore who put his left leg in, and forgot to take it out, turn around or do the pokey hokey kokey. Oh well, that's 3 points down the swannie. I tell thee what though, I was a little worried about Lil Bent. Apart from the Pen, he wasn't really in the game, I just hope that he gets up to speed as soon as. It's always a pleasure pottering over to Green Lane, just to see how the other half live. If you want some Mooli, or some bling it's the place to be, but I'm not sure what Mr Bowyer makes of it all when he pulls up in his Bentley.
There was a little bit of expectancy oozing from me at the first whistle, but reality bites. I wasn't going to watch MotD, Sky Sunday or get the Sunday papers. Start the season as you mean to go on.
Oh I went to the Peninsular Chinese Restaurant on Friday. It had a few good reviews, but not from me. If you want an overpriced Chinese in the settings akin to a hotel reception (it really is in the reception) then this is the joint for you. If you want to have Din Sum, think again. None left. I went for the Eel, so I should have guessed it would be overcooked ... it was "Rubbery" and that isn't a classless chinese joke, it bleedin was rubbery. Stick to what you know in future, Archipelagos or bust for me.
The Blackwall Tunnell was fcuked again all weekend. So I stopped over in Leytonstone again last night. Three notes to park my car today was ok, but the fact that I had forgotten my belt made the trip to work interesting. Thank god for dressing gown belts, they rock.
Oh, the footie season's in full swing. It's UManU on Wednesday, gee I can't wait.

Nearly there ..
Well tomorrow is definately another day, as we head through the tunnel to Green Street and the 'Appy 'Ammers. It looks like Carlton and Marlon upfront for them and Jimmy and Dazza up front for us. Who would you want leading your line?
I'm actually looking forward to seeing Amady and Djimmi and I'm hoping that Darren Ambrose has a bit of a better first game of the season that last year.
Oh smudge has a new Charlton website out there in the mix. Go on take a look, you know yu want the Delboy wallpaper.
It was a journey to the Big Yellow in Tunbridge Wells yesterday. How the other half live!!!! Snail paced traffic through the tunnel, down the A2 and round the M25. How on earth people do this day in day out is beyond me. Good luck to them is what I say. But the Big Yellow is something else. It's a reminder to throw things away don't store them ... go on you know you want to.
Oh it's lucky England have won the series already. Pakistan are really giving it to them.
Did I say I'd sorted my new phone out. I'm actually quite taken by it ... once they port the number that is. Seven days, I ask you.
It's the final of Big Brother tonight. So I've booked a restaurant for 7:30, I will eat, drink and be merry. Oh and Nikki is being paid to "like" Pete. You heard it her viewers.
Now come on own up ... how many of you want to go and see Snakes on a Plane? It may look a tad, er shite ... but I think you're going to love it.

Summertime Special
So, the papers are full of reports of bags going missing. Well you don't have to be a genius to work out that that was always going to be the case. Passengers had to stick everything in the hold, including ipods, phones, books. So when the airlines lose your bags you are well and truely buggered.
It's still raining, and it's supposedly still summer.
I bought a hawaiian shirt at lunch time. Roll on my bollybobs. I also bought two beigels and a coconut tart. Rock on.
Another day closer to the first game of the season. I bet there will be a problem with the tubes come Saturday!!!!
Oh, and I finally decided on a new phone last night. Feast your eye's on this.

Hectic
It's been a weird, busy couple of days. Weddings, bad backs, text messages re new kits and loanees, and bleedin rain. It rained and it rained. Sod them people who have moaned about it being too hot, I blame them. It rained so much I had a leak in the conservatory. Another leak I might add.
I bought a ticket for the Wet Sham game on Saturday. Maybe I was deluded, but when it's all said and done I couldn't not go. Sitting on my own though ....
I was thinking about the signing of Scott Carson. When was the last really decent loan signing? Carlton Cole? John Hendry? Scott Houghton? He's got to be a better bet than that fat bloke at Narwich?
The suns out, so I'm in a happier mood.

More beeps ...
Blimey, we've gone beeptastic. 18:20ish last night confirmation that Matt Holland and Bryan Hughes had been sold for 2 pound each. Ho hum, no I mean Costa Rican wizard Christian Bolonas has signed on loan. Although he may be better suited to Wimbledon!!!! Thwack ....
It's lucky I'm not flying today. We're on a Critical alert and you're not allowed to carry handluggage on the plane. Everything, including wallets, phones, ipods to go in the hold. So some poor sod now arrives in Spain and all his belongings including essentials in Portugal!!!! Just stay home, or go to Newquay. I was listening to Alan Brazil on talksport this morning. They went live to a taxi driver who was at Terminal One at Heathrow. And it's over to Shabbaz at terminal one. Shabbaz what's the traffic like? Oh it's not too bad at present Alan, a little tailback but surprisingly no police on the approach. Ok, ok, says Brazil ... but where are you from Shabbaz. Er, I'm from London says our Taxi Driver hero. Well yes, says the Scottish version of Dr Evil, but where are your origins!!!! Well my parents are from Pakistan. Oh, yes says Dr Evil. Given that, do you think this will effect Sikhs!!!! Will they have to remove their turbans to fly. Well you could have knocked me down with a feather. Poor old Shabbaz was laft speechless. A great bit of Radio ... nearly up there with James Whale.
Has anyone watched any of the European Athletics? I have to say, Merlene Ottey running for Slovenia!!!!! What's that all about?
Still no idea on what phone I wont to get. Ho hum, oh and I cut down some of the garden, cleaned the kitchen and made fish pie and beans. Rock on.

Beep, beep
Well at 00:32 on Wed 9 August I got a text message. It was from the Addicks telling me Djimi and Amdy had signed on. Given that it was sent at 18:15 on the 8 August, I was less than impressed, as it woke me up. I knew by then, and also knew that we had beaten Antwerp 2-1. Another pre-season win ... wonders never cease.
Whatever happened to the days of not knowing who we are linked with until they are holding a shirt up at the Press Conference? Oh that's Old School .. we lost that when Curbs went.
Also what's it with Dowie being the Head Coach??????
How long is BB going on for? I watched 10 minutes last night. Davina give it up gal.
I may venture back out into the garden this evening. Some more bushes to cut down. That's after I have made a fish pie.

And still we wait
The clock ticks on and still no text message to say we have signed anyone. I'm not saying this is desperate, but it's starting to look that way.
Blimey, England have won the cricket. The local lads Monty and Saj doing the damage.
Anyway, as I was saying, the clock is ticking. Supposedly Amdy Faye and Djimi Traore have had medicals. Well Tyrone Mears medical at Wet Spam lasted 2 days so maybe I'm jumping the gun. But really do these signings get the saliva glands churning overtime. Then again we are Charlton.
I may take a trip down Oxford Street tonight to see if H&M have anything left in their sale.
**Tick-tock**
Still no text.

A niche in the market ...
This isn't a Charlton Blog. It's a blog about life in South East London that happens to include my support for Charlton. So I don't rush home to get on T'Internet to write about the team, or rant (much) about the clubs falldowns, or generally argue the toss about how shite Marcus Bent is. I leave that to others. But sometimes, just sometimes you have to make your feelings known.
I wanted to go on Saturday because it was Dowies first home match. We've had 15 years of Curbs and this is a new chapter. If it all goes pear shaped you know there will be cries of "Sod of back to Sellout you Palace twat!!!" You know it I know it. But I wanted to get in there early whilst the canvas was still quite blank. So what did we find? A general non plussed experience.
Lets start at the Oak. It's changed hands. A new govenor, new bar staff, ho hum. The pub was fairly busy, I say fairly, but in truth it was empty in comparrison to the usual bedlam that will happen come UManU or the Arse. So why did it take forever to get served. The bloke did that crap shake of the arms, stoke shake of the head, shouting whose next because he wsn't serving people in any particular order. There was a 2 minute conversation about crisps!!! A bloke wanted Salt n Vinegar hade been given Cheese n Onion, then the barman started saying he had asked for this and that. Just give him his crisps and poor me a drink. Trust me, by Christmas the Oak will be empty.
Then we move onto the Programme. It's square!!!! It's got a wipe dry cover (still) and it's difficult to fir in your pocket. It's also gone up to 3 notes, so I'll not be buying one in future. The end of an era, you decide.
Next, we have the ground. Exactly the same, no new paint, or signs or flags ... just the same dirty seats and a patchy pitch. The word is that Paddys seeds were washed away in a storm. It looked shite though.
Then onto the game. An inept performance from a bunch of overpaid football players, a whirling dervish as a PA announcer and supposedly music when we scored. I was gobsmacked that Marcus had scored to notice the music, but reading All Quiet ... it appears it was true. We don't and I repeat don't want goal music. Leave it now. It maybe something we need the fans director to get involved in. So make sure he knows your feelings on this.
Did I mention how inept the football was!!!!
On a side note, how hot was it yesterday? And there was bleedin delays at the Blackwall Tunnell again. I'm not sure why for 3 years the south bound access was shut, but now that they want to repair the North Bound tunnel they close on of the South bound lanes and shunt trhem all up there. Bleedin typical.

My hell at Wet Sham!!!
Back page headlines as Franc Lumpard excercises his demons. Paulo was this, Hasselbaink was that, I hate West Sham, I hate Liver and Onions .. hoha, hoha ... WTF ... all for 75k a week.
Flat packed computer chairs ... have you ever tried putting one together? You need a team of midgets to do it.
Its Charlton vs the All Whites tomorrow. It should be quite interesting, and I'm actually looing forward to it ... in comparison to the Welling game the other day. Take a kagool though I say.
No new signings !!!!! And the clock ticks on.
I'm still undecided on what mobile to get next.
I've booked a window for my summer holiday. It's a week at the back end of Sept, but I'm not sure where I want to go. It's got to be hot, with cheap booze. Suggestions?
It's a double eviction on BB tonight ... BOTHERED???

Wings Clipped
How easy a headline was that? We tropped over to PVR in the rain and stood there watching a typically saucey performance. That was my first game under the Dowie regime, so it was a little bit of a damp squib.
A couple of trialists that we couldn't hear the name off. Surely it's about time the Wings spent money on a good PA system. What ever happened to the covering at the road end. I'm sure they had a questionaire about 15 years ago.
Welling looked better than I expected, so if they keep it up I may nip down there a few times this year. I won't hold my breathe tho'.
The funniest sight was the whole New Zealand squad tyurning up 5 minutes before kick off. I'm sure they didn't know what to make of it. Welling in the rain. It's definately not a World Cup warm up.
I liked the look of Youga, so maybe that's why Chrissy Powel was let go? Who knows!!!
The weathers turned. Just as I was going to get in the garden and start chopping. Typical.
It was a session of circuits at the gym today. An hour sess. It made my feet go numb and my belly have a liking for hot chocolate. I don't know either.
Role on the weekend.

Things ....
that should make you think:
- Why do people wear their staff passes when they are outside of work?
- Why do people text when a call is more appropriate?
- Why do people stand right in front of the door to smoke, then throw their butts on the floor?
- Why do people get overly concerned about other people appearing to be "PC"?
- Why do people strut around the gym having not done much by way of a work out then spend an age showering?
- Why is all furniture now flatpacked?
- Why is starbucks so shite?
- Why. oh why, oh why?
Sometimes its good to think.
Still no signings. It does start to make you think. Jeeez, this thinking malarky really is a pain.

Stranger than fiction ...
Seems like the same old crew did the Valencia weekend. A pic of Vince, with Lucy Les and Sirjamalot hit my mobile saturday night. The sun was shinning and the Charlton boys were in town. I got a text saying we were 2-0 down and they were all over us. I was quite happy Sunday morning to learn that it had ended 3-1. It's pre-season ... we are being told that the Valencia players were better on the ball, they had better control, used it better etc, etc ... well I could have told you that, and I was sitting on a settee in Leytonstone. Wonders never cease.
I've not been overly concerned, but a lack of quality signings is starting to rub away at my Charlton preseason optimism.
** Slight problem, why do people cut their nails in the office. Snip, snip .. snip .... **
We need a couple of midfielders, and the more time moves on the less time they have to bed in, etc .. you know learn the Charlton way. We don't want Holland and Hughes being the main men come Wet Sham. That just wouldn't work!!!!!!
Anyway it's Welling on Wednesday and my first glimpse of a Dowie team. It's going to be packed down at Park View Road as all the locals want to get a piece of football action.
I'm a bit worried about the Darren Bent situation. His cut hand has meant he hasn't been able to play in any games so far. That's not good. He needs to be match fit.
The weather seems to have turned, and everyone seems to be saying thank fcuk for that!!!! Blimey, I love the hot weather, the sun beating down. Maybe I'm strange like that, but I don't like rain.
There was one coat put on the wall friday. I'm hoping another coat may be done today along with the other small bits and pieces. The flats like a tip, so nothing new there then.

Haming it up
I don't know what that means either ....
Still no signings. Oh but the season ticket books have had bleach thrown over them. A disgruntled supporter or rival (won't be a Palarse or Wall)!!!!!!
It's Valencia tomorrow. Odds on we take a mullaring. Ho hum.
It's still quite hot out. Overly humid. I love it.
Love Island pished all over Big Brother. Oh how I love Sophie Anderton (Is she Darrens sis?) and her spats with Paul Danan. Quality viewing. Watch Dennis go to town ...!!!
It's a stroll down to the Sham tomorrow. See what excites me in the 99p shop. It was a bird table last time.
The graphics card has gone on my PC. More expenditure ...
Oh and you should all be looking to switch from British Gas. They provide both my Gas and Electricity. Sod that ... I'm on USwitch ...

Right then ....
The new roof panels are up. It puts the rest of the roof to shame. Hopefully the wall gets painted today. The ceiling netting is on order, and the camo material for the benches has arrived. I just need to get some foam padding and I'm away.
I've just ben chatting to my Mum about the cricket. She was cheesed off that she can't watch the test on terrestrial TV. They won't have any viewers in a few years ...
Still no new signings. Yea we've been linked with all and sundry, Uncle Tom Cobley etc, but I want fact. Pictures of them holding the shirt.
Still no idea on what phone to get. Ho hum ....
Just realised I've got a wedding to go to in a couple of weeks. I need to find an outfit that doesn't upstage the bride.
I've got a craving for full phat coke. That's not good.

Reality
I forgot to mention I watched the Contender 2 on Monday night. Keeping them peeled.
A defeat to Scotish Giants Hibs last night. It appears we don't have a big squad. It's full of youngsters. They must know what they are doing!!!! Surely.
Hopefully I'm getting the conservatory roof done today. I say hopefully ... and I mean it.
Talking of rucksacks, why do people put them on the seats and not in the overhead racks. Usually they put them inside and sit on the outside. I saw it last night. What's that all about?
Oh and Canadian Graham has indicated that Barnie Gravel is cycling from John's end to Land o' grouts. Blimey, will his fences suffer? Will he get a blister on his bum? Is Jeff meeting him halfway?

Taking the piss
The Royal Mail are right up there. Have you seen their new pricing guide? If your sending a "large" letter in an A4 envelope you end up paying more. Oh right, so if I want to send something not bentr it costs more money. Thanks ... you get far too much out of me already, so a few pence more rocks.
Love Island ... I gave it a glance last night. Paul Danan!!!! Pulled Sophie Cokesniffers pants down. Oh how I LAUGHED ....
It's phone upgrade time. Jeeez, another couple of weeks of phaffing around. What can I get, what deal will I be offered. Bleeding Orange now get on my wick, just like T-Mobile.
Oh, it's away to Hibernian this evening. Jeez, that's got to be better than away to Torquay. Hasn't it?
Have you all noticed an increase in backpack wearers on the tube stroke train? The ones that wear their backpacks!!!! You know the ones. It's on the increase I tell thee ...

A long weekend
Well Whitstable came and went. Quite strange really. It's a fishing village, a harbour but not much sign of being able to buy fish. We had some oysters and chorizo, some ray, some lobster then bought some lavender from a shop down the high street. Let's get some fresh fish I mused. Some sardines, whack it onto the barbie. One fishmongers with a window full of flies ... er, no thanks. No fish stalls on the sea front .... oh well, let's stop off at Tesco.
It was a relatively easy drive. Just over the hour door to door. Down the A/M2 and Bobs your Uncle. A couple of hours on the beach, I think it's got to be Herne Bay next.
I got to see Sergio Mendes last night. My first visit to a concert at the Barbican, brought about an early DJ set from Giles Peterson, and some great singing from Gracinha Leporace and Dawn Bishop. It was 25 years since Sergio last performed in London, supposedly with Frank Sinatra, so it was a priviledge.
Oh Charlton won at the toolbox. 4-1 was the score, excitement none by all concerned. JFH played a half, whoooosh.
Welling lost to Grays and their new striker lasted 15 minutes.
The weather is still lovely but have you noticed how people have turned. Oh it's too hot, it's too humid, I can't sleep ... blah, blah, blah. It's lovely ... just move on.

Sun drenched
A lunchtime circuits session definately gets the blood pumping. It does make you sweat like Kev in a volvo factory.
It's the start of the Open Golf Championship today, Zzzzzzz ......
Other news ... Zinedine Zidane has been handed a three-match ban for headbutting Marco Materazzi. HELLLLO !!!!!! He's retired.
It's a Whitstable day tomorrow. So here's hoping for some sun. The CIFC lot are on their way to Leeds for Worldnet. PQ will once again be the star of the show. Beige shoes, beige trosers and beige cheeks.
I've lost my straw hat. I can't believe it ... it's definately straw hat weather.
I think I need a cup of tea and a muffin ....

It's cold outside ...
It was a long day yesterday. Up at 04:55, back home at just gone midnight. A flight to Blackpool on the hottest day up North this century. It was a funeral visit, so not much fun there. It was an emotional day, and I think appreciated by all those concerned.
We even had fish and chips. Ray Knobbs all the way.
It's touching a ton today. We shouldn't have to work. We should all be paddling. My mum just called to say she was on the beach.
The man Mini Bent signed a new 4 year deal yesterday. Quality, although it's not worth the paper it's written on, and if he's banged in a few and we are safe, he'll go in January.
It's a trip to Whitstable on Friday. Although the planned train strike is now off. Well suspended anyway.
There's Channel Fours Wank week coming up. There are a few people I know that much be practicing as I speak.

Little Bent with the Junior Reds Under 8's.
Here's hoping he signs a new contract eh !!!!!!
Why do people smoke but waft it around willy nilly?
Why do people refuse to move down the train but clog up the door?
Why do people half walk half run down the platform to get to the barriers first then spend 5 minutes trying to find their ticket from their bag?
Why do fat people walk in twos'?
Why do people moan about it being hot?
Just a few things that were playing on my mind this morning. Ho hum.
I had a productive weekend. I bought a new fish, finally ... and a small bird table for the front garden. I plonked it right in the middle of the lavender, it looks sweet. The windows and stone work were finished, I just have to make sure I clean the front windows frequently and make sure the stone work gets a wash. Only the conservatory roof and the garden to go ...
Reading the Sunday papers was interesting. Matt Oakley, jeeeez. Is that it? No dis-respect man, but come on.

Deluded
I first saw this mentioned on Netaddicks, and then did a search on the FT Jobboard. Blimey is the only thing I can say. So take a look. I like the comments about:
"A hands on management style is critical to enable the right candidate to interact with both Chairman and Vice Chairman on a daily basis over its management accounts and financial strategy. This strategy is the lifeblood that empowers the success on the pitch. The very success that this Club will attain for the future; a sustained Premiership presence, onto Europe and ultimately, following our recent breakthrough into the USA marketplace, a brand recognised throughout the entire world."
Big Brother!!!!! WTF!!!! It can't be real??? Can it???
So World War 3 is upon us. I was going to have a beigel at lunchtime, but I'll give it a miss.
It appears that there's going to be a Vets match before the Wall game next week. Rufus and Morts ... quality. The football season is upon us.
It was a flying ant day yesterday. Hmmmph ...
Apart from giving loads of catches the English cricket team had a good day yesterday!!!! Bring on the Aussies.

Greetings from the garden ...
Or it would have been if I had wi-fi. But I don't so I didn't bother posting yesterday. Ho-hum.
I cleared loads of stuff from the patio, and around the edges. I have to clear the garden completely of shrubs etc now, but that's going to take a little longer. G started on the stone work out the front of the flat, and I put the hoover round as my brother cooked dinner again.
So the first test against Pakistan has started. Have England lost yet?
Does anyone know a good IT Support company?

Interesting ...
So Jimmy Floyd Road signs and Chris Peacock has joined Wet Spam. So much for loyalty. He needs to work, so goes and joins the Green Lane Gang. I'll be selling his book on ebay.
I enjoyed a meal cooked by the brother last night, and a discussion about the garden. I need to cut up all the shrubs, get rid of the lawn, scrape out all the sh*te between the patio then bobs your uncle. He recons 2 days, I said more like a week. We shall see.
Celebrity Love Island started, and I don't know the majority of them!!!! Not for me.
I did a Body Pump class at lunchtime. Not as good as Body Max but good all the same.
It's a trip to Selfridges tonight, there's a sale on.

Another 4 years
Well there we go. The World Cup came and went, there was a slight euphoria, then a damp sqib and then ZZ. Were there any great players? Were there any half decent players? Well whatever the answer it was all spoilt by Zidane. What was that all about!!!!!
Charlton have finally come to life. They've signed an 18 year old from Leeds, given Lloyd Sam a 4 year deal, and unveiled an Arsenal lookalike strip. The away kit is black and gold. Haven't we been there before?
Big Brother rolls on. I haven't been watching but I was dismayed to hear that some people have got right into this series. Blimey!!!!
It was good to see the boys on Friday. They all came of age together. Strange.
I noticed that the work on the Blackwall tunnel seems to have been done. It's not shut on a Sunday night. That made it a 20 mjinute trip from Leytonstone last night as oppossed to over an hour when it was shut.

Ah diddums
It's there on the front page of the Sun. Cristiano Ronaldo weeps as Portugal lost. Blimey, move on ... that is so last week. It was quite funny to see the crowd lambast Ronaldo during the match, and the BBC wave their tricolors with pride. It was a shame the match was so shite. England must be kicking themselves.
Still no signings ... hmmmph.
Have you noticed how fat people on the trains sweat!!!! It leaves a stale odor in the air. Not nice. I also had a discussion at the weekend about fat people always eating. Why do they do it?
Does anyone floss?

Well there you have it, Italy/ Germany turned out to be a good football match. Nip and tuck, cat and mouse. A good game. I say a good game but blimey some people were proper wanking over it, including the ITV Commentatots. Hold on guys ... its football.
It rained last night. Rained so much that I had to mop out a mini flood.
Still no new signings!!!!! Hmmmph ....

The Scots One
Well he went out with a whimper .. shame.
It's the World Cup Semi Final tonight. Is anyone that bothered???? Germany against Italy riveting.
It's still a scorcher out there. Air conditioning anyone??????
I replanted my banana plant last night. I'm looking for the damn thing to grow some.
I need to clear the patio this evening. Some pathclearer and a broom. I live the life. I was thinking I could hose it down, but that's not allowed!!!!
It's WorldNet in a couple of weeks. A weekend on the pish in Leeds, nice. Especially dressed as a hulagirl (that's what Smudge wants!!!!)
Luke Young has decided to stay at Charlton. Now this is the same Luke Young who for 2 years was Luke Warm, who plays fotball like he's playing with a hot potato, the same Luke Young who somehow played for England. Nice!!!
I've booked to go and see Sergio Mendes. Here's hoping he plays better than Ronaldinho.

End of the road ...
Well the sun shone ... England lost, Brazil lost, the West Indies lost and bleedin Andy Murray won!!!! (Although he's losing at the mo.)
It's a great event the World Cup, but it's shite when all your teams lose, or your left with a couple of blighters in the semis. That Thierry Henry did it for me. A great player but a cheat!!! You can quote me on that.
Oh and my email is still playing up. They forgot to change the IP address.
It's too hot to sit in doors, so I need to go get an ice cream.

Sad fact that last night I missed my dose of footie. I ended up flicking then watching BB, AND HOW SHITE IS THAT. Imogen didnt know what sabotage meant!!!! Even with her million GCSE's and degrees. It was a head shaking moment.
I'm in the middle of an office move ... PC packed away, PC at home buggered ... I've got withdrawals.
There's a spin class I need to get to.

That's the way ...
So we all settled down to watch Espana wipe the floor with le Blue ... didn't we??? That goes to show what football's all about. What's the point in beating Ukraine 4-0 if you go out and the bleedin Ukrainians just waltz through. Seems like "Hing'lan" are doing the doo, as Betty would say.
I'm still disliking people who smoke, but don't smoke, just waft. Waft off. People who shout on their mobiles. I don't need to know that your going to Lakeside. People who stink!!!! Wash you dirty barstewards. People who are overly critical of people seemingly being PC!!!! What is PC? Saying no to something that's not right!!!! Answers on a postcard. Car drivers that continually bib their horns in a traffic jam. It;s not going to make everything go away. Double glazing salesmen. Fat people who take up seats on the train ... get down the gym.
Still no signings. Ho hum.

It's been a few years since I had to do one, but 5 minutes on google and alls good in love and war. The whole thing took 20 minutes, not how I remember it. Just goes to show how good XP is.
So friendlies in Belgium and Holland have been announced. That's got to be better than a West Country tour!!!!
I cant believe how bad Ronaldinho has been in this World Cup. The fat boy has just broken the overal scoring record, but bucky isn't cutting it.
I got some Cazal glasses of ebay this morning. A total bargain. Only 33 euros. You try and find a pair this cheap.

The rain
I was woken at 5:30 by the sound of rain on the conservatory roof. It was bucketing down. It hasn't stopped since. Hmmmph ...
So half the Portugeezer squad are out of next Saturdays match, where as we only have to worry about Gary Neville. You know what England could be in the Semi Final, without so much as an entertaining phase in any game. The Mexicans however go home, having been involved in one of the all time classics.
It's still raining.
As the football has been ongoing, the cricket team have got worst. I don't hear the same glory hunters banging on about losing to the Sri Lankans as they did in beating the Aussies. The WIndies have been picking up a bit ....
How do you clear Algae from a fishtank? The water is green and I can't see the poor fish.
It's raining ...
I need a holiday. I'm not sure where I want to go. I could do with lying on a beach for a week.
It's still raining.

Big phat Ron ...
You wouldn't mind a player quite like Big Phat Ron would you? I know, he seems a bit lardy, but he knows where the goals is.
It was interesting to see Brazil put under the microscope and then hit the ground running. Some interesting players, Juninho, Cincinho, Ricardinho, Hoho and a tiddlee I po, they all seem to be better than Jermaine Jenas. It's going to be a game and a half that Brazil/ Ghana match.
I've got to get the new TV home on the train. Should be interesting.
The suns shining and it's going to be a lovely weekend. Be good ...

Told ya ...
Didn't bother with the bore draw Argies vs Holland, I watched the corker that was Serbia/ Montenegro vs Ivory Coast. What a corker. I'm currently watching Ghana, and you have to say that they look a good team (I think them were psyched out against Italy.)
I bought an LCD TV. I'll tell you what it's like when I put it up. If anyone wants to buy a TV let me know. I have 3 different sizes available.
Why do people who smoke walk along wafting their smoke everywhere. Why don't they just smoke the damn thing. It's funny now that you wont be able to smoke in places where Non-smokers congregate!!!! Oh well.
There's the other instance where you are on a train or a bus when someone is eating some foul smelling piece of crap. Why .. why ... why????
Walking reading a newspaper, walking in a line of 3, really slowly ... I've said it before and I'll say it again ... get out of my way.

Five Months
Until we see Mikey Owen back. That's that then, now we need Rooney to have his foot stamped on, Crouch to hit his head on the crossbar, and Walcott to run out of expressed milk. It's a funny old game.
It was obvious it was going to be a draw last night. It always is. The Swedish second was reminiscent of the CIFC second goal in the IFA Cup Final against Hibs. A long throw, bouncy bouncy and a goal.
I feel a little bit footballed out at the moment. It's Iran vs Angola at the moment and I can't get excited. I wasn't to watch the Argies tonight but am drawn to the Ivory Coast match, or shopping.
I'm thinking about getting an LCD TV. Any suggestions to good ones?

Between the devil and the deep blue sea ...
So it's England vs Sweden. Luckily Svens boys have qualified but a defeat tonight could see Sweden overtake them. Here's hoping that TNT stuff Paraguay, England do the business and everyone's a winner. Apart from Kev that is. If you want to know how Kev is getting on in the Swedish 6th Division, ask him.
I've read that Blue Peter stopped their badges gaining access to UK attractions because they were being sold on ebay!!!! Blimey, are we talking thousands or a few? Those pesky kids.
I spent the evening putting a shelf up last night. Using my new drill it took 10 minutes. I can't believe it's taken me years to invest in a drill!!!! I think I need to get some more shelves, just so I can do more drilling.
I also managed to mop the floor, water some plants, do two batches of ironing, eat an eccles cake and pull up some weeds.
I'm reading Mel Cherens autobiography at the moment "My life and the Paradise Garage" go fill ya boots is what I say.

The weekend
Well that was quick. A couple of days and it's all over. Don't you wish it was just a tad longer?
I have to admit I laughed when South Korea equalised last night. Poor old France. Phaphed around for 80 minutes then conceeded a goal that made Bill Gallas fume. I've been smiling ever since.
It definately is a football fest. I cant work out how Franz Beckenbauer makes it to every game though. That's got to be some chinook.
The weathers turned again. Clammy with showers. It's good weather for the tube.
Seems like the Pilots nearly buggered it up against Beechwood. That sounds like a right old state of affairs.
Seems like CIFC have a game on Saturday. I'm moving rubbish, so that's me sorted.

That was close
As Big G said from his Canadian hideaway, Port Vales finest gave our boys a hell of a run around last night. Thank fk for Peter Crouch!!!!
It made me laugh at the time, but it's also the quote of the day in the Sun, step forward Gareth Southgate " The goals comongh, it's just a matter of it we run out of time." Strange boy the new Boro manager.
Jonathan "Inspector" Spector has been snapped up by Wet Sham. Blimey that was close. I have to say, I haven't seen an as inept player for a few years now. He wasn't much cop, but hey what do I know.
I like the look of the Ecuador kit.
It was really that bad ... wasn't it? The miss from Peter Crouch in the first half had the whole country clenching their cheeks. Michael Owen, he's not match fit is he!!! Bent or Defoe anyone.
I do buy the Sun. There are times when I wonder why, then I read Ally Ross on a Friday. He muses ... random World Cup irritations, Gabby Logan asking Townsend about post-colonial Africa. Cotton bud microphones!!!!! Coleen McLoughlin believes she can "go halves" with her boyfriend on a £50,000 dog kennel sponsorship. Wayne pays two halves, Coleen pays no halves. He then talks about Big Brother. Well I have to say I haven't watched it this time, because it's shite, but he says the new housemates husband paid £4,000 on chocolate so she could get in there (so they say) but how funny would it be for him to sit there watching her cop off with Glyn?
There is a maths quiz/ test in the paper this morning. They are banging on !!!! It's quite sad really. I was going to put some of the questions up, but I couldn't be bothered to type them up. Take my word, anyone with an ounce of common would do them.
I've just picked up the new Soul Heaven (Kerri Chandler/ Dennis Ferrer) CD. Well worth a look.
No signings at Charlton.

Home by 5 ...
So will the trains be full of stinking, yawning, rucksack wearing clodhoppers at 4:30 this evening? That'll be if there are any trains running. You watch as the network shuts down from 4 as all the train drivers acll in sick. It's sunny and ENGLAND'S ON THE TELE.
One think I've noticed is why do they sing "I'm England til I die????" Shouldn't it be "I'm English til I die!!!!!" Just a thought.
I watched the German game last night as I was clearing out the conservatory. They looked quite good. Spain didn't look bad either.
Matt recons it's going to be touching 100 degrees this wekend. Phew what a scorcher. I'll get some lard and sunbath then.
It's in the Sun. We'll be colonising the Moon by 2030. However the moons gravity is much weaker than Earths and there is no atmosphere. Hmmm , a bit like living in Croydon then!!!!!!

My good deed ...
There you go, someones had their cat nicked from Forest Hill. It could be worst could be shot in Forest Gate !!!!!!
Word from the pink oboe list is that for the sake of a few herberts living in Kent, Charlton should up and RELOCATE TO EBBSFIELD !!! Whereever that is? So that makes the Valley Party pretty redundent. And given that 1.14 inches of rain fell on Gravesend in an hour yesterday you could set up an umbrella factory.
I watched the whole of the Brazil match last night. It was the first match I've had on all the way through, you know without flicking. Apart from England but I wasn't in doors for that. I thought they played quite well. For a team that peeps thinks should just turn up to win. I thought Juan was their best player.
It's raining again!!!! Sod that.
What is it with people walking so slow. They all bunch up and won't let you pass. It's not funny.

Taken from the Guardians Saturday magazine. Supposedly Hither Green is an up and comming area. Although you tend to read this an wonder what Hither Green they are reviewing.
I got this from a blog called personal ramblings from a guy who lives in Hither Green. You read it, you take it in .. then dissect it and realise that what I want and most people is something completely different.
To quote a few things from the blog -
"So why would I want to leave this place? A number of reasons both due to the flat and the area, the later due to it's location and, I have to say it, dullness. While it is quite quick to get into central London, having to stick to trains (there isn't a direct bus route, I'd have to change twice to get to the same area of central London) does limit you."
Why get a bus when a train works? Why do you want to live in an area that is full of noise, clubs, pubs, vomit, vandalism ... ?
Stick to Hither Green, it's couple of beggars, it's halfway house, it's skip hire place, it's weird Saturday meat factory. It works for me.
I woke this morning to torrential rain. When it rains hard it falls down onto the conservatory roof in great volume. There are weeds growing out of the guttering and it stops the water running smoothly along. I'll have to get this sorted as well, I can't be having that. My feet are sodden ... why are shoes not made water tight?
It was one of them wet, sweaty, damp train journeys this morning. Windows shut because of the rain, people kicking up because they had been caught in it. I couldn't stay like that all day.
I actually did something constructive last night. I put another coat of paint on the side wall in the kitchen, I put two pictures up, and contemplated putting a shelf up. Contemplated because I couldn't find my spirit level. When I finally realised it was in my new toolbox it was too late. The kitchen is getting there, and hopefully by Saturday it will be complete!!!!
Then it will be onto the conservatory. Once I've cleared out some of the old junk. Moved the wardrobe, the fridge-freezer, the cabinet, the empty boxes. Painted the bare wall, cleaned the curtains, and mopped the floor.
Oh Charlton have moved their reserve team down to Gravesend. Why don't they just move the whole shebang down to Kent, piss Scally off some more and have done with it. I wouldn't have to waste my time then.

We're off and running
Well there we go. The weather hit a high of 84 degrees in Germany nicely giving Sven an excuse to the lacklustre performance. The weather was about 80ish over at Canary Wharf on Saturday as 600 revellers enjoyed the game. It was mostly good natured came the report. Mostly!!!!!! Until 200 blokes/ gals started throwing beer, fighting and doing that suburban Saturday night thing. It makes you proud. Oh and not a Paraguayan in sight.
As for the football, apart from the Argies and the Ivorians who were unlucky to lose, it's been a bit of a tame afair. England, Holland both won but didnt set the world alight. Sweden ... well Kev may get a game for them yet. All power to T&T, but England will beat them, and progress to phase 2.
I'm looking forward to Italy/ Ghana tonight.
It was my weekend as white van driver man. Up at 8 on Saturday, around the South Circular, back through the Blackwell Tunnell, over to Lakeside. Blimey, my left foot aches from using a van with manual transmission. All power to power steering. It was good to sit out in the sun yesterday, if only under a beer umbrella, sipping Vodka for Keeleys birthday. I do like Hoxton. It's dirty, dark, dingey and smells ... that's what Londons all about. It puts Manchester and Liverpool to shame.

It's upon us ...
Well here we are ... every 4 years we have a proper Big Daddy Football fest. I can't believe that Japan/ Korea was 4 years ago. How time flies.
It'll be loads of dancing and singing for the opening ceremony, then the Germans against the Costa Ricans. Go on Paulo.
It's an early start with me doing my White Van Man impression. I'm not sure how I get talked into this stuff. Ho hum.
I just hope the sun continues to shine ... and I hope you all have a great weekend.
